Just as Spotify brings you a Wrapped up of your favorite songs and artists for the year, we present our annual wrap-up of your favorite R&D community, where you may have met us and what blog posts we’ve published.
In last year’s recap, we made a “resolution” outlining what you could expect from us in 2024, and we are excited to share what we have accomplished! We mentioned our goal of becoming more international, and we succeeded—around 30% of our events this year took place outside the Czech Republic. While Prague remains the strongest hub for our R&D community, we’ve been active in other cities. See the chart below for more details.
87 members of the Mews R&D team took part in community activities this year. We also launched our Instagram account, where we’ll be sharing regular updates with photos and videos from all our events. Don’t forget to follow us!
Events
We participated in a total of 130 events (which included organizing the events, hosting speakers, or collaborating as partners), most of these events were meetups and conferences. However, we didn’t stop there and below, you can see the types of events we attended and organized.
While our team works tirelessly throughout the year, event organization tends to be seasonal, with the autumn months being the most active period for our community.
Speakers
At these events, Mewsers delivered presentations on a wide range of topics, with a significant increase this year in design and product-focused content alongside our regular technical topics on the frontend, backend, and other engineering topics (such as 3D printing, introduction to software development, mechanical keyboards, etc.).
We involved 70 speakers from Mews R&D in our talks, many of whom gave multiple presentations. Below is a leaderboard showcasing our most active speakers.

Our legendary booth
This year, we set up a booth where visitors could fish for ducks in a pool filled with pink balloons and win some of our merch. We’ve made appearances at conferences such as WebExpo (Prague), Frontkon (Prague), Hatch (Berlin), TechMeetup (Ostrava), Career fair MatFyz (Prague), API conference (London). Of course, we’re planning something new and fun for next year and we can’t wait for you all to come to see us! In 2024, we successfully published 25 blogs on our website developers.mews.com, collaborating with 18 authors from Mews R&D. The chart below highlights our primary areas of focus, showing that technology topics were the most frequently published, followed closely by community topics.
The highest number of articles were published in April, followed closely by the autumn months of October and November.

This year, we successfully launched the regular bi-weekly Frontend Mewsletter, curated by Honza Hruby, where you can find the latest updates and insights from the frontend world.
What to expect in 2025?
Here’s what you can look forward to: a brand-new booth design and enhanced conference support, an increase in Call for Proposals compared to this year, continued community support, and expanded year-round partnerships. Additionally, we’re excited to bring you more podcasts featuring our speakers. Most importantly, we’ll open a new space in our Prague offices in February, a hub for community activities.
Our community R&D team is evolving to be more professional, data-driven, and data-centric. By using Kanban and Jira, we can collaborate more effectively, speed up delivery, and scale our activities more productively in the future. However, our top priority, as always, remains you—our wonderful community members!
